Hi, this is Kiyomi. I am in charge of SDGs activities at the Singapore branch.

Have you ever heard of the term ‘self-compassion’?

At work and in our personal lives, we will encounter difficulties of all sizes. How should we deal with such situations? What can we do to deal with them in a positive way, without being negative?

This is one of the problems that everyone has. This time, we invited a special lecturer and held a “Self-Compassion” seminar on April 19th to help our staff get some hints and methods to solve these problems.

                           

“Self-compassion” means having compassion for yourself and caring for yourself as much as you care for others.

Self-compassion has three important elements. Self-kindness, common humanity with others, and mindfulness, which accepts even difficult situations.

How can we overcome difficulties and stressors more easily? How can we motivate ourselves with encouragement rather than criticism? We learned how to acquire mindfulness and self-compassion that can be used in daily life.

Practice focusing on yourself by placing your hands on your chest.

On this day, we learnt that practicing self-compassion can increase our sense of well-being, reduce stress, and have a positive effect on our mental health.

Our staff who attended were interested and satisfied with this seminar.
