Hello, this is Shao Aso from the IT Department of the Hong Kong Branch, a member of the Social Value and Well-being Committee (SVWC) in FY2024.
On the afternoon of -September 24 , the Social Value Team organized a meal preparation event  with Food Angel.

Food Angel is a food rescue and food assistance program launched in 2011. The program rescues edible surplus food from different sectors of the food industry that would otherwise be disposed of as waste. Following strict safety protocols, the rescued food items will then be prepared as nutritious meals in Food Angel’s central kitchens and as food packs. They will be distributed to serve the underprivileged communities in Hong Kong.

In July 2023, the SMTB Hong Kong branch participated in the same event and had a very meaningful experience. This year, the Social Value Team planned this event again, so that even more employees would be able to gain this kind of experience.

On the afternoon of September-24, six volunteers from the SMTB Hong Kong branch participated in the meal preparation at Food Angle Sham Shui Po Central Kitchen. At this event, we helped with prepareation of 1,685 boxed meals for people in need of food assistance.
