Hello! This is Morris Ho from Hong Kong Branch. In this blog article, I would like to introduce a Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) activity organized in our neighbor office, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust (Hong Kong) Limited (SMTHK).

To promote the United Nation 17 SDGs, SMTHK initiated a Company Calendar drawing event in September 2022 to encourage SMTHK colleagues to create two paintings by incorporating the 17 SDG goals into two of SMTHK 2023 company calendar drawings.

Over 40 SMTHK colleagues worked with a hearing-impaired artist – Lily Chiu over 10 days and created two paintings by using the Eco-Friendly drawing materials.

Two paintings were created by SMTHK colleagues to demonstrate the concept of the small changes to our daily habits can make a huge different to the World and our next generation.

Throughout those two SDGs-theme paintings, we would like to deliver the message of equal opportunity, reducing disposal and the waste problem which might cause a devastating effect on the ecosystem, the food chain and health beings and all living creatures by utilizing clean and eco-friendly energies.

Many positive feedbacks have been received from SMTHK colleagues and they found the lunch hour drawing sections release their stress from work and they enjoy working with colleague from other departments.

The colleagues applied two SDG theme paintings and make them as the e-version 2023 company calendars.  

Meeting have been conducted between representatives from Hong Kong Branch and SMTHK to exchange the SDGs strategy and to exchange ideas on SDGs activities. In the near future, we hope that Hong Kong Branch and SMTHK can have the chance to collaborate in different kind of SDGs activities.
