Hello, this is Morgan from NY.
The Americas Division hosted a Sustainable Wine Tasting on November 14, 2023. Charles Springfield, a certified Sommelier, provided an onsite wine tasting class to discuss sustainable farming practices and other actions that create sustainable wines.
The sommelier explained that wines are dependent on farmland and climate conditions to make the grapes. He explained the way farmers are caring for the land by planting items that pair well together to replenish the earth.
Farmers are also look at ways to adjust the grape growing process as growing region temperatures are starting to rise.
Employees had the opportunity to taste four sustainable wines and one sustainable champagne as well as pair them with sustainable cheeses. Employees were able to ask questions about parings, tannin’s, the differences of wine from different regions, and the practices that go into sustainable farming all while enjoying a collection of wines.
35 employees attended the event and enjoyed the opportunity to learn something new and interact with their co-workers!
