Hi, this is Kiyomi. I am in charge of SDGs activities at the Singapore branch.

On 11 April 2025, 8 staff from SGP branch volunteered at ARC Children’s Centre.

ARC Children’s Centre is Singapore’s first day care centre for children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supporting them and their families.

Children with weak immune systems cannot attend regular schools because they are at risk of disease and viral infection when they go outside, so ARC supports these children.

Depending on the child’s condition, the child’s siblings may also attend the centre to prevent infection, as they have little contact with the outside world and few opportunities to make friends. To prevent infection, the number of volunteers is limited to 8, masks are mandatory, and volunteers must have had chickenpox or been vaccinated, and be in good health, in order to participate.

ARC also offers them joy, hope, comfort and support during difficult times. Since July 2011, ARC has helped over 290 children and over 100 siblings living with cancer and life-threatening illnesses.

ARC is an independent charity and all the work it does for children is supported by donations from the public and corporate sponsors.

I would like to share with you about our volunteer work.

It was just around Easter time, so we coloured some Easter decorations.

Explain today’s craft. On this day, there were about 12-13 children between the ages of 2 and 10.

The children are so full of energy that it’s hard to believe they are fighting serious illnesses. The few hours we spent laughing with the children were a joy and healing experience for us. We feel like we received hope and courage from the children. Hoping and praying for the day when the children get better and can go out freely, SGP branch will continue to support ARC’s children and the staff.
