Hello! This is Charity, Wellbeing and Social Working Group (CWSWG) in the London Branch.
The Standard Chartered Great City Race is a unique 5km corporate running challenge which takes place around the closed off streets of the City of London.
The donations from participants and sponsors as well as a portion of the participation fees are used for education and entrepreneurship support programs to reduce economic inequality and promote financial inclusion among young people.
Having initially been postponed due to the extreme summer heat in July, the race event finally got underway in September. From the London branch, 25 people in-person and virtually wearing their SMTB running shirts with pride participated in the event.
Not only did our entry fees benefit charities, but each participant from the London Branch also made a donation to the branch charity which was added to our overall fundraising for the year. Although it was rainy, the runners enjoyed the great vibe, strengthening bond among employees and headed to a pub afterwards!
