Hi, this is Kiyomi. I am in charge of SDGs activities at the Singapore branch.
On 14 June 2024, 15 volunteer members from Singapore branch painted mugs to be given as Father’s Day gifts together with those with special needs at the AWWA Home and Day Activity Centre. (AH&DAC)
AWWA is a social service organization that support for education and disability support for children and adults with additional needs, as well as support for low-income households and caregivers, and health and social assistance for vulnerable seniors.
I would like to share our volunteer activities with you.
At 1:30 pm, there was a briefing before the activity at the activity hall.
Painting materials were provided on each table.
We escorted them to the activity hall.
They were having fun painting.
For those with visual impairments or difficulty using their hands, we held their hands and painted together.
We made lots of lovely mugs. Any father would be happy to receive such a gift!
After tidying up, we toured the facility.
After the age of 18、they attend adult facilities and therefore do not have as many activity programmes as for children.
The AH & DAC holds these events regularly with external support. The AH & DAC, which opened in 2022, has a capacity of 300 people, but currently has about 40 residents. The Singapore branch will continue to support AWWA with the cooperation of our staff.
Next time, we will go to the aquarium with AWWA members. Look forward to it!
